Akha Bhagat 22

Akha Bhagat· Ghazal· 6 shers

This ghazal explores the deceptive nature of perception, where an unseen essence underlies visible forms. It speaks of a pervasive, year-round experience that resides everywhere, suggesting a deep-seated illusion or reality. Through analogies like seeing leaves but not the vine, or waves but not the current, the poet highlights how the physical body is perceived while the true consciousness remains hidden.

અખા હરિ જાણે જડ જાય નૈં તો મનસા વાચા પેશીરે ક્યાંય.
Akha says, when Hari is known, dullness departs; Else, neither mind nor word can enter anywhere.
Akha states that once the divine Hari is truly known, ignorance or dullness vanishes. Otherwise, neither one's thoughts nor words can penetrate or achieve anything meaningful.

Do not assume someone high in status is inherently superior, nor that a humble person is inherently inferior. True worth is determined by one's character, not social standing.
