O heart, tell everyone, whether it be a matter of life or death, that 'Ghayal' is drinking and thus cannot come.

This powerful couplet speaks of emotional exhaustion and self-imposed isolation. The poet, Amrut Ghayal, suggests that no matter the circumstances—be it life or death, or the presence of others—the heart must reveal a truth. The truth is that the poet is consumed by his own pain ('drinking'), and therefore, the beloved must leave, because he simply cannot be present for them. It’s a beautiful depiction of being too heartbroken to accept comfort.
