કાજળભર્યાં નયનનાં કામણ મને ગમે છે,
કારણ નહીં જ આપું, કારણ, મને ગમે છે.
The magic of kohl-filled eyes, I like, A reason I will not give, for I like it.
I am fond of the charm of kohl-filled eyes. I will not provide any reason for this, simply because I like it.

લજ્જા થકી નમેલી પાંપણ મને ગમે છે,
ભાવે છે ભાર મનને ભારણ મને ગમે છે.
I like the eyelashes lowered with shyness,
The burden that weighs upon the mind, I like that burden.

જીવન અને મરણની હરક્ષણ મને ગમે છે,
કે ઝેર પણ ગમે છે મારણ મને ગમે છે.

ખોટી તો ખોટી હૈયાધારણ મને ગમે છે,
રણ હોય ઝાંઝવાનાં તોપણ મને ગમે છે.

સુંદર બની ગયું છે કંઈ ઓર દિલ મટીને,
તૂટી ગયું છે તોયે દર્પણ મને ગમે છે.

લાવે છે યાદ ફૂલો છાબો ભરીભરીને,
છે ખૂબ મ્હોબતીલી માલણ મને ગમે છે.
The flowers bring memories, filling baskets full,
That gardener woman is very loving, I like her.

આવી ગયાં છો આંસુ લૂછો નહીં ભલા થઈ,
એ બારે માસ લીલાં તોરણ મને ગમે છે.
Tears have come, do not wipe them away, please be kind,For those twelve-month green 'torans' are what I always like to find.
The speaker requests that tears, which have come, should not be wiped away, asking the other person to be kind. This is because those tears, like green torans (decorative garlands), are liked throughout the twelve months.

લજ્જાના બંધ તોડી જુલ્ફો દિયો વિખેરી,
જીવન બને છો વેરણછેરણ, મને ગમે છે.

હું એટલે તો એને વેંઢારતો રહું છું,
સોગંદ જિંદગીના, વળગણ મને ગમે છે.

દિલ શું હવે હું પાછી દુનિયાય પણ નહીં દઉં,
એ પણ મને ગમે છે, આ પણ મને ગમે છે.

હસવું અચૂક હસવું, દુઃખમાંય મુક્ત હસવું,
દીવાનગી તણું આ ડહાપણ મને ગમે છે.
