નશાના ધામ તરફ મસ્તીના મુકામ તરફ,
નિગાહ છે કે રહે છે સદાય જામ તરફ.
Towards the abode of intoxication, towards the destination of ecstasy, The gaze is such that it always remains fixed on the cup.
The gaze always remains fixed on the cup, leading it towards the abode of intoxication and the destination of ecstasy.

કરી જો બંદગી સાહેબની અદબથી કરી,
વળ્યા ન હાથ અમારા કદી સલામ તરફ.
If with reverence, we served the Lord,Our hands ne'er turned to offer salutations abroad.
If we performed devotion to the Lord with reverence, then our hands never turned towards offering salutations to others.

ઉઠાવો કોઈ જનાજો જવાન પ્યાસ તણો!
કે મીટ માંડી નથી જાતી ભગ્ન જામ તરફ.
Raise a bier for this young thirst's demise! For the gaze cannot fix upon the shattered cup.
Let a funeral procession be held for this young, unfulfilled desire. One cannot even bear to look at the shattered cup, which could have satisfied it.

હવે તો દ્રષ્ટિ ફક્ત સાદગીને શોધે છે,
ગયો એ દોર કે રહેતી હતી દમામ તરફ.
Now my gaze only seeks simplicity, Gone are those days it was drawn to grandeur.

એ સ્નેહનું જ રૂપાંતર છે એય પણ ક્યાંથી!
કે એમને હો તિરસ્કાર મારા નામ તરફ.
Is that a mere transformation of love? How can that be! That they hold contempt towards my name.

દીવાનગીમાં અજાયબ મળી ગઈ દ્રષ્ટિ,
કે ફાટી આંખથી જોતા રહ્યા તમામ તરફ.
In madness, a wondrous vision was attained,That with wide-open eyes, one gazed in every direction.
Through madness, an astonishing sight was gained, enabling one to gaze in all directions with wide-open eyes.

ગતિ ભણી જ નજર નોંધતા રહ્યા કાયમ,
કદી ગયા ન અમે ભૂલથી વિરામ તરફ.
Our gaze remained fixed on motion forever, We never, even by mistake, went towards rest.

જો હોય શ્રદ્ધા મુસાફરને પૂર્ણ મંજિલમાં,
તો આપમેળે વળે છે કદમ મુકામ તરફ.

હતો એ મસ્ત પ્રવાસી કરી પ્રવાસ સફળ,
અનોખી શાનથી ‘ઘાયલ' ગયો સ્વધામ તરફ.
