Ghazal
This ghazal explores the demanding nature of love, portraying it as a continuous struggle that seeks genuine courage rather than those who succumb to threats. The poet conveys a pervasive sense of vulnerability and the profound emotional suffering that has turned the inner landscape into a river of blood, where past beauty feels like mere dust. It reflects on the fragmented pursuit of understanding fidelity and the persistent shadow of mortality throughout life.

He who was no fighter, perished at a mere threat's sound,For Love, whose calling is combat, sought where brave men are found.
He who was not a fighter died at a mere threat. Love, whose profession is battle, sought brave men.

From heart to liver, now it's a blood-river's shore, On this path, the flower's glow was dust before.

Will the turmoil of love's sorrow ever cease? If the heart was also lost, that was precisely the pain of the heart.

My friends could not heal my wild despair,For even in prison, my thoughts roamed the desert air.
My friends could not cure my wild despair, because even in prison, my thoughts were still wandering in the desert.

This shroudless corpse is Asad's, the soul-afflicted one,May God forgive him, what an incredibly free man he was.
