Be it on the bough, the leaf, or blade, or upon the bud, the bloom, the thorn; Wherever in the garden I abide, mine is the rightful claim to spring.
Whether I am on the branch, greenery, and leaf, or on the bud, flower, and thorn; wherever I may reside in the garden, I have a rightful claim to the season of spring.

Threaten me not in wrath, though lightning strike a hundred thousand times; this humble nest is my only empire, these few wings my sole estate.
Do not threaten me in anger, even if lightning strikes a hundred thousand times. This nest alone is my empire, and these few wings are my sole possession.

The boundless reaches known as love, the sacred glories beauty can impart—go ask of these from one who bears the beloved’s grief with pride at heart.
The true vastness of love and the heights of beauty's greatness can only be understood by asking the heart of someone who takes pride in bearing the sorrow given by the beloved.

Is this the bloom of my tears of blood, or an album of grief for the beloved? Even my poetry is sacrificed before my magic-painting eye.
Is this the spring of my tears of blood or an album of sorrow for the beloved? Even my poetry is sacrificed before my magic-painting eye.
5
What a strange turn of fate time brings, how brief my tale appears: this head, now a heavy burden on my shoulders, once rested upon the beloved's lap.
Time has brought such a strange revolution, and my brief story is simply this: the very head that is now a burden upon my shoulders once rested gently on the beloved's lap.
6
These conspiracies of love's perfection, these proud airs of beauty's grace; such boundless favours and bounties showered upon merely my handful of dust.
All these conspiracies of the perfection of love, the proud graces of beauty, and these countless favors and blessings are being showered upon merely my handful of dust (my humble existence).
7
O morning breeze, convey from me this final message of despair: Come see me now, if see you must, for autumn blooms in full splendour here.
O morning breeze, deliver this final message of my grief to my beloved on my behalf: if you wish to see me, come see me now, for my autumn (decline) is at its peak.
8
All this is sheer deception of appearances; my fear, O heedless heart, is lest your gaze remain transfixed upon these few fleeting designs.
This is entirely an illusion of appearances; O heedless heart, my only fear is that your gaze might become fixed merely upon these few fleeting patterns.
9
Bound to pain I may well be, yet what else could I desire, O Jigar? / The beloved's sorrow is enchanted by me, and I am enraptured by the beloved's sorrow.
Even if I am bound to pain, what else could I desire, O Jigar? The beloved's sorrow is enamored with me, and I am completely devoted to the beloved's sorrow.
