Devotion does not arise from those who are lustful, angry, or greedy. Only a true hero practices devotion, even if it means sacrificing caste, lineage, and all else.

Kabir, a truly profound Shayar, tells us here that attachment to worldly vices—lust, anger, and greed—are incompatible with genuine devotion. He suggests that true devotion is not merely a feeling, but an action that demands radical sacrifice. Only a 'soorma' (hero) is capable of this, one who is willing to shed the superficial anchors of caste, lineage, and ego for the sake of the divine truth.
