Where once lay barren fields and thorns,
Now spring has bloomed, dispelling all the sorrows.
Where once there were barren, thorny areas, blooming flowers and greenery now flourish.

In my madness, the veins of my neck have dried up,
Like the wires of a deserted place, they have become so.
In my madness, the veins of my neck have dried up, like the wires of a deserted place.

The tales are told around the city of love,
That only graves remain, graves only.
It is said that around the city of love, only graves remain, graves only.

It is because of this passion for the river of beauty, that all the waves have become the shores.
It is because of this passion for the river of beauty that all the waves have become the shores.

In these very lanes, when we wept, O Meer,
Many rivers of sorrow have flowed by.
In these very lanes, when we used to weep, many rivers of sorrow have flowed by.
