Ghazal
Akha Bhagat 7
The ghazal "Akha Bhagat 7" contrasts the profound wisdom of an experienced soul with the limited understanding of an ordinary individual. It metaphorically suggests that an inexperienced person's attempts to debate a knowledgeable one are futile, akin to a small fence challenging a camel or a well trying to compete with the ocean. The central idea is that true spiritual insight is vast and inaccessible to those without deep experience.

માંહોમાં દુ ર્ઘર્ષ અગાધ્ય
અખા જીવને નાવે સાધ્ય.

અનુભવી આગળ વાદજ વદે
ઉંટ આગળ જેમ પાળો ખદે ;
To the experienced, arguments are but words, Like a weak hedge a camel disregards.
Arguments are merely words before an experienced person, much like a weak fence is easily disregarded by a camel.

Camels have far-off journeys to take,But foot soldiers their very lives forsake.
Camels have long journeys ahead, but foot soldiers often lose their lives.

સાગર આગળ શું કૂ દે કૂ પ.
Akhā, the enlightened, is God's own form;Before the ocean, why should a well perform?
Akhā, the enlightened one, is the very form of God, like an ocean. Before such an ocean, why should a mere well attempt to perform?

આવી નગરમાં લાગી લાય
પંખીને શો ધોખો થાય;
A fire broke out in the city,
What sorrow does it cause the bird?
A fire has broken out in the city; what sorrow or concern does this cause to a bird?

The poor mice make a fervent sound,For no strength to fly is found.
The poor mice make a sound because they do not have the strength to fly.
