Ghazal
This ghazal contemplates the mysterious nature of love and existence. The poet suggests that passion (junoon) has taught him the secret language (harf-e-raaz) of life. He prays for the spirit of Gabriel (Nafas-e-Jibreel) to articulate his feelings, reflecting a deep contemplation on self-discovery and the transient nature of worldly attachments.

That letter of secret mystery that has taught me passion, / If God grants me the breath of Gabriel, what shall I say?
That secret letter/word has taught me passion. If God grants me the breath of Gabriel, what will I say?

Will a star ever tell the news of my destiny?
It itself is in the splendor of the heavens, beyond my knowledge.
Will a star ever tell the news of my destiny? It itself is in the splendor of the heavens, beyond my knowledge.

What is life, O thought, or the intensity of the gaze?
It is the death of the self, a suspicion of sin.
O thought, what is life, and what is the intensity of the gaze? It is the death of the self, a suspicion of sin.

What a strange delight it is, that they grant me the flavor of my own being,
They wish for me to lose myself within myself.
It is a strange delight for me when they give me the flavor of my own being; they desire that I lose myself even within myself.

O pure conscience, O elevated gaze, and the intoxication of desire,
Neither the wealth of the Qaroon nor the thought of worldly ambition.
O pure conscience, O elevated gaze, and the intoxication of desire, neither the wealth of Qaroon nor the thought of worldly ambition.

I have learned this lesson from the glorious light of Mustafa,
That in the world of humanity, there is only dust.
I have learned this lesson from the glorious journey of Mustafa (Prophet Muhammad), that in the world of humanity, there is only dust.

Perhaps this universe is not yet complete,
For the mighty call, 'Be!'-Kun-Fa-Yakuun, is coming.
Perhaps this universe is not yet complete, for the mighty call of 'Be!'-Kun-Fa-Yakuun is coming.

Your cure lies in the burning passion of 'Rumi',
And on your worth, Ghalib, the foreign magicians' spell.
Your cure lies in the burning passion of 'Rumi', and on your worth, Ghalib, the foreign magicians' spell.

From His grace, my gaze is illuminated,
From His grace, my heart holds a glimpse of You.
By His grace, my gaze is illuminated, and by that same grace, my heart holds a glimpse of You.
