कबीरा ते नर अन्ध है , गुरु को कहते और। हरि रूठे गुरु ठौर है , गुरु रुठै नहीं ठौर॥
— Kabir
Meaning
Kabiira says that man is blind and he tells this to the Guru. He says that the Lord is upset and the Guru is the place, but in reality, the Guru is not upset and there is no place.
Explanation
This couplet presents a profound irony. When a person, believing themselves blind, preaches to the Guru, they are actually distancing themselves from the very source of knowledge. Kabir suggests that divine displeasure has no fixed location; it only depends on the state of the mind. Instead of blaming external circumstances or places, we must focus on cultivating inner awareness, which is the core of Kabir's teaching.
