The mind enjoys delectable food, and the senses crave flavor. When the nose (or senses) are completely filled with taste, tell me, what is that pleasure?

This couplet is a sharp critique of sensual indulgence and the mind's constant craving. Kabir suggests that while the mind is delighted by every taste, when the nose—representing the senses—is absolutely full, what remains of the true delight? It directs us toward recognizing the limits of material pleasure and finding inner contentment.
