Ghazal
This ghazal speaks about the scars and marks (daagh) left by the fire of love. The poet declares that the scars are no longer visible on his chest, as the intensity of love has burned away the initial marks. It is a poignant exploration of the pain, longing, and profound impact of romantic love.

No more in my chest are the stains of your departure,
Instead, the stain is the very splendor of the stain.
No longer are there stains of your departure in my chest; instead, the stain itself is greater than the burning of the heart.

My heart burned, my eyes burned, my soul was consumed,
What all did love reveal to us, what stains it has bestowed?
The heart and eyes are burned; what stains has love shown us?

My heart and liver are burned, both are one, / Ever since your marked feet have crossed me.
My heart and liver are burned and merged into one, ever since your marked feet have passed by me.

O Lala, O candle, O lamp, you are the beneficiaries (of love's grace);
We too have suffered stains in the intoxication of love.
O Lala, O candle, O lamp, you are the beneficiaries (of love's grace); we too have suffered stains in the intoxication of love.

It is not now, 'Mir', that the chest burns,
Having consumed all the heart, oh stain.
It is not now, 'Mir', that the chest burns, having consumed all the heart, oh stain.
