Why should the curtain remain for the sun of ecstasy, when it too has come out, unveiled?

This profound couplet speaks to the inevitability of truth and beauty. The 'Curtain' (Parda) represents illusion, secrecy, or the veil of ignorance. The 'Sun of Ecstasy' (Khursheed-e-Khawari) is the moment of divine revelation or overwhelming truth. Mir Taqi Mir suggests that when such immense beauty or truth emerges, it cannot be contained. The curtain must fall, and the beloved (or the reality itself) must appear unveiled!
