Writing, speaking, and arguing—that was what happened between us for a long time; now that I have decided from my heart, neither the letter nor the message has gone.

This beautiful couplet captures the essence of silent separation. Mir Taqi Mir says that after so long, both writing and speaking have become pointless. The connection has reached a point where the heart makes a silent resolution. That resolution, the true message, has become so internal that it has left both the letter and the message behind. It's the pain of a separation that can't even be articulated.
