Ghazal
This ghazal explores the intense emotions of love (ishq) and the transience of life. The poet laments that due to love, his thoughts, dreams, and peace have vanished, much like the indistinguishable passage of time between morning and evening. It reflects on the fleeting and uncertain nature of existence.

My love has become a thought, a dream that went to rest; the soul's journey waits, whether it be morning or evening.
My love has become a thought, a dream that has gone to rest; the soul's journey waits, whether it be morning or evening.

Since I fell in love, my faith has departed, Islam has departed; / The deed my heart performed was something by which I failed.
Since I fell in love, my religion has left, my faith has left, Islam has left; / The deed my heart performed was something by which I failed.

Whose separation do you mourn, who is the wanderer? The dreams have fled, the zeal is gone, the peace is lost, the rest is gone.
Whose separation are you mourning, who is the wanderer? The dreams have vanished, the zeal is lost, the peace is gone, and the rest is gone.

Whether I came from here, or whether I must hide the heart's secret, what gain is there? Whether today has passed, or tomorrow will pass; whether morning has gone, or evening has gone.
Whether I came from here, or whether I must hide the heart's secret, what gain is there? Whether today has passed, or tomorrow will pass; whether morning has gone, or evening has gone.

Oh, youth, what stories to tell, kept in the tumult of minds; / Now that covenant is gone, that season, that uproar has passed.
Oh, youth, what stories to tell, which were kept in the tumult of minds; now that covenant is gone, that season, and that uproar has also passed.

This slanderous beauty, this charm, these are often just on the hand (or passing), the favor is gone, the grace is gone, the honor is gone.
This slanderous beauty and charm are often merely superficial. The favor, the grace, the gifts, and the respect have all departed.

Writing, saying, arguing—that was what happened between us for ages,
Now that I have decided from my heart, both the letter and the message have gone.
Writing, speaking, and arguing—that was what happened between us for a long time; now that I have decided from my heart, neither the letter nor the message has gone.

From the stream of Mir, we have not been guilty of such a deed for many nights; perhaps, the lover of that cruel person went infamous from the city.
