This powerful couplet describes the beloved's captivating charm. The poet, Mir Taqi Mir, says that the beloved's beauty (abroo) and sharp gaze (tegh-e-tez) are companions (humdam) to the speaker. But the danger is even greater: the heart and liver itself stand ready before the beloved, like a formidable warrior (Rustom)! It suggests that the beloved's allure is so overwhelming that even the speaker's very essence is ready to be conquered.
