Ghazal
This ghazal beautifully contrasts two approaches to love: one who merely talks about it, and another who embodies and performs it through actions. The speaker represents a selfless, deeply devoted lover who finds meaning in the act of loving itself, without needing reasons or conditions, in stark contrast to the beloved who may only engage in theoretical discussions of love.

O beloved, how else would the journey of day and night ever end? You may speak of love; we shall indeed love.
O beloved, how else would this journey of day and night ever conclude? You may speak of love, while we shall truly engage in it.

You may write your name on sand or on your palm,We are so mad, so wounded: neither name nor fixed abode.
You may write your name on sand or on your palm. We are so mad and wounded that we have neither a name nor a fixed abode.

You have your reasons, for us no excuses, no doubt. You may speak of love, but we will just love throughout.
You have your reasons, but we have no excuses or doubts. You may talk about love, but we will actually love.

To you, clouds and mist are dear; to us, a radiant night,We shall become Pārijāt, and kiss your feet, bathed in light.
To you, clouds and mist are dear; to us, a radiant night. We will become Pārijāt and kiss your feet.

Ah, from these eyes, Ganga-Yamuna flow incessantly, You may talk of love; we shall perform it truly.
Ah, tears flow continuously from these eyes like the Ganga-Yamuna rivers. You may talk about love, but we will actually perform it.
