સાકી, જે શરાબ મને દીધો દિલદારને દીધો નહીં;
O Saki, the wine you gave to me, you did not give to my beloved; O Saki, the intoxication that came upon me, did not come upon my beloved.
O Saki, the wine you gave to me, you did not give to my beloved; and the intoxication that I experienced, my beloved did not experience.

મુજ ચશ્મમાં ચરખો ફરે, કદમે બદન લથડી પડે;
My eyes see the spinning world, my body falters with each step;The beloved only smiles, truly, I have not found my friend.
My eyes perceive the world spinning, and my body falters with each step. Despite this, the beloved only smiles, and truly, I have not found my friend.

આશક અને માશૂકને, પાવો એક જામે ને સીસે;
To the lover and the beloved, pour from a single cup and flask;To serve with but one hand, O Saqi, you have done no justice.
The cupbearer poured for the lover and beloved from a single cup and flask, and served with only one hand. By doing so, you have not done justice.

મારી ગઈ શરમે બધી, દિલદાર હુજ્ર્ મહીં હજી;
All my shame departed, in the beloved's chamber, still;Your empty flask I became, which you chose not to fill.
In the beloved's chamber, all my shame vanished. I became like your empty flask, which you chose not to fill.
5
સરખાં બને બન્ને જરા, ત્યાં તો શરાબીની મઝા;
When both grow equal, just a slight, then is the drunkard's pure delight;But you reversed it, brought me plight, O beloved, your eyes did not play.
When both (measures) are balanced, that's when the drunkard finds delight. But you inverted this, making it a punishment, as your eyes, my beloved, did not engage in playful love.

મુજ ખૂન આ કૂદી રહે, દિલદારનું થંડું બને;
My blood may leap and wildly surge,Yet my beloved's heart stays chill.What rises in me finds no urge,To be returned; no joy I feel.
My blood surges with passion, yet my beloved's heart remains cold. The feelings that rise within me simply subside without reciprocation, bringing no joy.

આ રાત પહેલી વસ્લની, માશૂકના ઈન્કારની;
This night, the first of union, and of the beloved's denial;You committed such folly then, why did your cup not shatter?
This was the first night meant for union with the beloved, yet it brought forth the beloved's denial. You committed such a folly then; why did your cup not shatter from the disappointment?

ના રોશની ગાલે ચડી, જરી ના લબે સુરખી પડી;
No radiance graced her cheek, no crimson stained her lip; Her eyes did not grow deep, the lover's heart failed to grip.
Her cheeks showed no radiance, nor did her lips bear any crimson; her eyes did not deepen captivatingly, and thus the lover's heart was not enthralled.
9
આ પહોર ચાર જ રાતના, કંઈ વાયદા વીત્યે મળ્યા;
These mere four watches of the night, met after promises untold;With what great zeal enshrined in heart, their worth you can't behold.
These mere four watches of the night, we met after some promises had passed. They were enshrined in the heart with great zeal, yet you do not appreciate their worth.
10
ના ખેંચ આશક તો કરે, માશૂકને પાવો પડે;
The lover does not draw, yet the beloved is made to sip;The Saaki should not drink, yet you did not heed the rule.
The lover does not exert any pull, yet the beloved is compelled to drink. The server of wine (Saaki) should not drink themselves, but you have disregarded this rule.

જોઈ સનમને રૂબરૂ, ઘેલો હતો પૂરો જ હું;
Seeing my beloved face-to-face, I was utterly mad, you drank again, even you, but offered no drink to your friend.
Upon seeing my beloved face-to-face, I was utterly mad. You, too, drank repeatedly, but neglected to offer any to your friend.
12
આ વાય ફજ્ર તણી હવા, મુજ રાત વીતી મુફતમાં;
The dawn's air now blows, my night passed in vain;My beloved rises to leave, she uttered not two words.
The air of dawn is blowing, my night has passed in vain; The beloved is rising to leave, she did not speak even two words.
13
જો આવશે કો દી સનમ, તો લાવશે આંહીં કદમ;
If ever my beloved appears, their steps will grace this place; Brother, show compassion, such neglect is out of grace.
If my beloved ever arrives, their steps will grace this spot; brother, show compassion, as such negligence is inappropriate.
