sundar jiwanni yojna aawi chhe dhyanman

સુંદર જીવનની યોજના આવી છે ધ્યાનમાં,
આવી જજો ન આપ ફરી દરમિયાનમાં.

પૂરી તું કર નમાઝ અગર હોય ભાનમાં,
ઓ શેખ! મસ્ત થઈ ગયો હું તો અઝાનમાં.

બસ એટલી કમી છે કોઈ મહેરબાનમાં
હો લાખ પ્રેમ તોય રહે છે સ્વમાનમાં.
A kind heart has this sole flaw, it's plain:Though love be vast, self-respect will remain.

કોઈ સહાય દેશે એ શ્રદ્ધા નથી મને,
શંકાનું હો ભલું કે રહું છું સ્વમાનમાં.
I have no faith that anyone will lend a hand,Perhaps it is good for my self-respect that I in doubt stand.

સંભાળ દાનવીર કે પાછળથી થાય છે,
પસ્તાવો કંઈક વાર અપાયેલા દાનમાં.
Take heed, O generous soul, lest later there may be,Regret, sometimes, for the charity bestowed by thee.

એને છુપાવીએ તો કથા દિલપઝીર હો,
એવાય છે પ્રસંગ જીવન દાસ્તાનમાં.

એમાંથી જો ઊખેડે તો આભાર, ઓ હરીફ,
સંતોષ ખુદ મનેય નથી મારા સ્થાનમાં.
If you uproot me from this, then thanks, O rival,Even I myself am not content in my own place.

ખુદ એમનાથી ભૂલ હો જેના નિદાનમાં.

ઉપરથી જો જુઓ તો હું રઝળું છું ચોતરફ,
જાણે છે કોણ! હું છું હજી મારા સ્થાનમાં.

મારા પ્રણયનો કિસ્સો નહીં આપને કહું,

આગળ જતાં એ ખૂનનાં આંસુ બની ગયાં,
એ ખૂન જે રહી ન શક્યું ખાનદાનમાં.
