Ghazal
छाती जला करे है सोज़-ए-दरूँ बला है
This ghazal describes the unbearable pain of internal, burning love. The speaker addresses this suffering as an inexplicable fire, highlighting the conflict between the beloved's cruelty (jafa) and the lover's loyalty (wafa). It philosophically suggests that the restlessness and sorrow felt by every person are not due to any external cause, but rather a distinct ache of the heart and soul.

This burning sorrow, the pain within the chest,
Is like a fire; who knows what it truly is.
