વિજળી શો થયો આ શો ઝબકારો જલની મહીં?
ઉડતાં હંસ ચોંકીને પાંખો એ નભમાં ચડી. ૧
What a flash, like lightning, appeared within the water?
The flying swans, startled, their wings ascended to the sky.
What a flash, like lightning, appeared in the water? The flying swans, startled by it, rose higher into the sky with their wings.

એનૂં જ બિમ્બ જલમાં પડિને ઊડ્યૂં’તૂં
એથી જ વ્યર્થ ડરિ હંસ ગયેલ ઊડી;
Its very image fell into the waters, and seemed to soar,From this, a swan, in vain dread, flew from the shore.
Its own image fell into the water and appeared to be flying, causing a swan to needlessly fear it and fly away.

Where the eyes found peace by beholding, my heart now desires to become a swan of that very place.

Who will now behold that once-frozen face? Who will depart without having seen those eyes?
